MOUNTAINEERING

10LS 10 DAYS/9 NIGHTS RWENZORI CLIMBING, QUEEN ELIZABETH SAFARI

"A world of fantasy where nothing is real but only a wild and lovely flight of imagination” wrote the explorer Eric Sipton, who ascended the peaks in 1932.

The Rwenzori ranges lie 120km along the western border of Uganda and rise to a height of 1,500 meters. Walking tours on the lower slopes do not call for mountaineering experience, but only adept and properly equipped climbers should attempt the peaks, three of which rise above 500m

DAY 1: Drive down to Kasese in the southwest passing through Mubende. DAY 2 – 8: Drive to the base of the Rwenzoris and prepare to ascend one of the most challenging mountains in Africa starting that afternoon.
DAY 8: Descend to the base where you will find your driver/guide waiting for you to drive you to your hotel in Kasese.
DAY 9: After a leisurely breakfast, proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving on time for a launch cruise. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge
DAY 10: After an early morning drive, spend the rest of the day at leisure swimming, reading and bird watching, or visit the museum at the Institute of Ecology just a few minutes walk from your lodge.
DAY 11: Return to Kampala or Entebbe.
